Immunogen:
KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to mouse Elp1.
Background Information:
Elongation protein 1 (Elp1), also referred to as IKAP (I-KappaB-Associated Protein) is a subunit of the RNA polymerase II elongator complex. As part of the RNA polymerase II (Pol II) holoenzyme, this protin functions as a histone acetyltransferase component involved in transcriptional elongation. Studies suggest that this protein plays a role in chromatin remodeling via acetylation of histones H3 and H4.

Immunoprecipitation
UniProt Summary:
FUNCTION: May act as a scaffold protein that may assemble active IKK-MAP3K14 complexes (IKKA, IKKB and MAP3K14/NIK) (By similarity).
Acts as subunit of the RNA polymerase II elongator complex, which is a histone acetyltransferase component of the RNA polymerase II (Pol II) holoenzyme and is involved in transcriptional elongation. Elongator may play a role in chromatin remodeling and is involved in acetylation of histones H3 and probably H4 (By similarity).
SUBUNIT STRUCTURE: Interacts preferentially with MAP3K14/NIK followed by IKK-alpha and IKK-beta. Component of the RNA polymerase II elongator complex (Elongator), which consists of IKBKAP/ELP1, STIP1/ELP2, ELP3, ELP4, and two yet unidentified proteins. Elongator associates with the C-terminal domain (CTD) of Pol II largest subunit. Interacts with ELP3 (By similarity).
SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Cytoplasm (By similarity). Nucleus (By similarity).
TISSUE SPECIFICTY: Widely expressed with highest levels in brain.
DEVELOPMENTAL STAGE: Expressed at embryonic days 7, 11, 15 an |
