51 kDa
Immunogen:
GST-tagged recombinant protein corresponding to Retinoid X Receptor γ.
Clone:
1E3
Isotype:
IgG2aκ
Background Information:
Retinoid X receptor γ (RXRG or RXR gamma) is a nuclear receptor that mediates the biological effects of retinoids by their involvement in retinoic acid-mediated gene activation. RXRs as a whole exert their action by binding, as homodimers or heterodimers, to specific sequences in the promoters of target genes and regulate their transcription.

Entrez Gene Summary:
This gene encodes a member of the retinoid X receptor (RXR) family of nuclear receptors which are involved in mediating the antiproliferative effects of retinoic acid (RA). This receptor forms dimers with the retinoic acid, thyroid hormone, and vitamin D receptors, increasing both DNA binding and transcriptional function on their respective response elements. This gene is expressed at significantly lower levels in non-small cell lung cancer cells. Alternate transcriptional splice variants, encoding different isoforms, have been characterized. UniProt Summary:
FUNCTION: Nuclear hormone receptor. Involved in the retinoic acid response pathway. Binds 9-cis retinoic acid (9C-RA). ARF6 acts as a key regulator of the tissue-specific adipocyte P2 (aP2) enhancer By similarity.
SUBUNIT STRUCTURE: Homodimer or forms a heterodimer with peroxisome proliferator activated receptor gamma called adipocyte-specific transcription factor ARF6. Interacts with NCOA3 and NCOA6 coactivators, leading to a strong increase of transcription of target genes. Interacts with FAM120B By similarity. Interacts with SFPQ. Interacts with HCV core protein. Interacts with PELP1. Interacts with SENP6. Interacts with DNTTIP2. Interacts with RNF8.
SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Nucleus.
TISSUE SPECIFICITY: Highly expressed in liver, also f |
