Histidine-tagged recombinant protein corresponding to mouse Retinoid-Related Orphan Receptor γ T (RORγT).
Clone:
RORg2
Background Information:
Retinoid-related orphan receptor-gamma t (RORγT) is one of two RORγ isoforms belonging to the nuclear hormone receptor family and contains a single nuclear receptor DNA-binding domain. RORγT is a negative regulator of TNFDF6/FASL expression and T-cell production of IL2. The upregulation of RORγT is a requirement for TH17 cell differentiation. Inhibition of RORγT is induced by TGF-β’s interaction with Foxp3. Expression is observed mainly in immature thymocytes, and, during fetal development, is found exclusively in lymphoid-inducer (LTi) cells.

Key Applications:
Western Blotting
UniProt Summary:
FUNCTION: Orphan nuclear receptor. Isoform 2 negatively regulates expression of TNFSF6/FASL and IL2 production in T-cells. It also binds to the TEA promoter and may participate in the regulation of DNA accessibility in the TCR-Jalpha locus.
SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Nucleus Probable.
TISSUE SPECIFICTY: Isoform 1 is widely expressed with highest levels in muscle, kidney and liver. Isoform 2 is expressed primarily in immature thymocytes. Neither isoform is expressed in spleen or bone marrow.
SEQUENCE SIMILARITIES: Belongs to the nuclear hormone receptor family. NR1 subfamily.
Contains 1 nuclear receptor DNA-binding domain.
