Background Information:
Cyclins are, as their name suggests, expressed at specific times during the cell cycle, and play a crucial role in the regulation of the cell cycle. Cyclins associate with cyclin-dependent kinases (cdks), and the association is absolutely required for cdk activity. At the conclusion of the relevant phase of the cell cycle, cyclins are rapidly ubiquitinated and degraded, thus returning cdks to their inactive state. Cyclin A associates with cdk2, and together with cyclin E is involved in the G1/S transition. Cyclin A/cdk2 remains active during S-phase. Cyclin B associates with cdk1/cdc2 to regulate the G2/M boundary. The D-cyclins bind cdk4 and cdk6, and result in Rb phosphorylation. The cyclin D1 gene was found in chronic B cell lymphocytic leukemia, and designated Bcl-1, though that nomenclature is no longer used.

Control:
Jurkat cell lysate.
Quality Assurance:
Routinely evaluated by western blot on Jurkat cell lysate.
Western Blot Analysis: A 1:1,000-1:2,000 dilution of this lot was used to detect Cyclin E2 on Jurkat cell lysate.
Presentation:
Unpurified rabbit monoclonal IgG in buffer containing 50 mM Tris-Glycine (pH 7.4), 0.15 M NaCl, 40% Glycerol, 0.01% sodium azide and 0.05% BSA.
Storage Conditions:
Stable for 1 year at -20ºC from date of receipt.
Handling Recommendations: Upon first thaw, and prior to removing the cap, centrifuge the vial and gently mix the solution. Aliquot into microcentrifuge tubes and store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles, which may damage IgG and affect product performance. Note: Variability in freezer temperatures below -20°C may cause glycerol containing solutions to become frozen during storage.
