Trade Name:
Upstate (Millipore)
Specificity:
c-Myc when phosphorylated on residues Thr58/Ser62.
Molecular Weight:
57 kDa
Epitope:
phosphorylated Thr58/Ser62
Immunogen:
Synthetic peptide corresponding to sequence surrounding and including phosphorylated Thr58 and Ser62 of human c-Myc.
Modifications:
Phosphorylation
Isotype:
IgG
Background Information:
Myc is a member of the helix-loop-helix-leucine zipper (bHLH-LZ) family of transcription factors, which dimerizes with Max to activate transcription of some genes and repress others. As Max is essential for Myc activity, the availability of Max is a regulatory mechanism for Myc activity, and members of the Mad family of proteins compete with Myc for Max.

Application Notes:
Suggested dilutions:
Western Blot: 1:10,000
Immunocytochemistry: 1:50-1:100
Immunoprecipitation: 1:100
Control:
Calyculin/Okadaic acid-treted A431 lysate
Quality Assurance:
Routinely evaluated by immunoblot.
Purification Method:
Unpurified
Presentation:
100 μL of rabbit monoclonal IgG in 60% storage buffer (50 mM Tris-Glycine (pH 7.4), 0.15 M NaCl, 0.01% sodium azide and 0.05% BSA) and 40% glycerol.
Storage Conditions:
Stable for 1 year at -20ºC from date of receipt.
Handling Recommendations: Upon first thaw, and prior to removing the cap, centrifuge the vial and gently mix the solution. Aliquot into microcentrifuge tubes and store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles, which may damage IgG and affect product performance. Note: Variability in freezer temperatures below -20°C may cause glycerol containing solutions to become frozen during storage.
