Functional Aspects:
CD44 is a cell surface receptor for hyaluronate and is expressed on T cells, B cells, monocytes, granulocytes, erythrocytes, platelets, epithelial cells, glial cells, fibroblasts and myocytes. It may function in cell substrate interactions and cell migration. Alterations in expression on some tumor cell lines suggest a role in metastasis. This antibody will help detect CD44 in a variety of tissues. |
