Functional Aspects: CD40 is present on mature B cells, most B cell leukemias and lymphomas, interdigitating reticulum cells, follicular dendritic cells and Reed Sternberg cells It seems to function in the transduction of regulatory signals for cellular functions and in the prevention of apoptosis of germinal center B cells. Interestingly, CD40 has been reported to be a marker in malignant melanoma. This antibody will help detect CD40 in normal and uncharacterized tissues. |
