Gossypin
A potent antimelanoma agent
Product Overview
Product Name: Gossypin
Alternate Name/Synonyms: 3,3',4',5,7,8-Hexahydroxyflavone-8-glucoside
Description: A glucoside occurring in cotton and Hubiscus flowers that acts as a potent antimelanoma agent. Gossypin inhibits human melanoma cell proliferation, in vitro, in melanoma cell lines that harbors both BRAF-V600E kinase and CDK4 as well as in cells with BRAF wild-type allele. Gossypin inhibits the kinase activities of BRAF-V600E and CDK4, in vitro, possibly through direct binding with these kinases.
