Increases levels of HIF-1α; promotes cell survival under hypoxic conditions. DMOG posseses neuroprotective effect on NFG deprived cell cultures through preservation of glucose metabolism. DMOG also attenuates myocardial injury in a rabbit ischemia reperfusion model.
