Specificity:
This antibody recognizes the extracellular domain of CDON.
Molecular Weight:
~140 kDa observed. Uniprot describes 2 isoforms at ~137 and ~139 kDa. An uncharacterized band appears at ~25 kDa in some lysates. Background Information:
Cell adhesion molecule-related/down-regulated by oncogenes (CDON) is a cell surface receptor, belonging to the immunoglobulin/fibronectin type III repeat family and plays a role in myogenic differentiation. Mutations in CDON have been associated with holoprosencephaly type 11 which is a structural anomaly of the brain, in which the developing forebrain fails to correctly separate into right and left hemispheres.
