Emodin
Description
A natural anthraquinone found in plants, including rhubarb and buckthorn. It has been shown to have anti-inflammatory and anticancer properties. It inhibits tyrosine-kinase mediated phosporylation of vascular endothelial growth factor receptors. It is a potential antiangiogenic compound. It was also found to inhibit prostate cancer cell growth by down-regulates androgen receptor.
