Water-soluble geldanamycin analog
17-[2-(Pyrrolidin-1-yl)ethyl]amino-17-demethoxygeldanamycin (17-AEP-GA) is a new geldanamycin (GA) analog with an alkylamino group in place of the methoxy moiety at C17. 17-AEP-GA is less cytotoxic than GA and remains biologically active [1].17-AEP-GA was shown to induce similar tumor cell growth inhibition than 17-AAG and, unlike 17-AAG which is soluble in DMSO, to be water soluble.
