Molecular Weight:
~95 kDa observed.
Immunogen:
Recombinant protein corresponding to human PSD95.
Clone:
K28/43
Isotype:
IgG2aκ
Background Information:
PSD95 (postsynaptic density 95) represent a class of anchoring proteins which serve to localize various neuronal ion channels to post-synaptic densities. PSD95 and related proteins contain PDZ domains, which interact with NMDA receptors and voltage-gated K+ channels via a ET/SXV motif in the cytoplasmic carboxyl terminus of the receptor channels.

Human
Species Reactivity Note:
Demonstrated to react with rat. Predicted to react with mouse based on 100% sequence homology. Predicted to react with human based on immunogen design.
Application Notes:
Immunohistochemistry Analysis: 1:500 dilution from a previous lot detected PSD95 in rat cortex tissue.
Immunocytochemistry Analysis: A previous lot was used by an independent laboratory in IC. (Maeda, T., et al. (2005). Invest. Ophthalmol. Vis. Sci. 46(11):4320-4327.)

Entrez Gene Summary:
This gene encodes a member of the membrane-associated guanylate kinase (MAGUK) family. It heteromultimerizes with another MAGUK protein, DLG2, and is recruited into NMDA receptor and potassium channel clusters. These two MAGUK proteins may interact at postsynaptic sites to form a multimeric scaffold for the clustering of receptors, ion channels, and associated signaling proteins. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq].
