The Thermo Scientific Pierce Blue Prestained Protein MW Marker consists of individually dried and stabilized mixtures of seven dye-modified proteins spanning the molecular weight range from 18K to 215K.
Pierce Blue Prestained MW Marker Mix comprises seven blue-stained proteins spanning the size range of 18.3 to 210kDa. Unlike traditional mixes that must be aliquoted, mixed with sample loading buffer and heated before use, the Blue Marker is pre-aliquoted and lyophilized in ready-to-use form in a foil-covered, 48-well plate. Simply puncture the foil covering with a pipette tip and add 10µL water to one plate well. The marker mix dissolves almost instantly and is immediately ready for loading directly onto a gel lane for SDS-PAGE. The marker mix is pre-denatured and stabilized in loading buffer, so no additional treatment is necessary before loading the reconstituted aliquot.
The proteins in this mix span a broad molecular weight range and are prestained and purified to yield single bands upon electrophoresis in reducing and denaturing 4 to 20% polyacrylamide gels. Each protein has been proportioned in the mix to yield uniform band intensity.
