Application
A variety of techniques have been developed to detect mycoplasma in cell culture (DNA staining, biochemical detection methods using 6-MPDR, and the microbiological culture method). However, each of these methods has disadvantages.
The Mycoplasma Detection Kit is an ELISA that combines specificity and high sensitivity with a short assay time and easy evaluation. The kit detects the most common mycoplasma/acholeplasma species (M. arginini, M. hyorhinis, M. orale, A. laidlawii) that contaminate mammalian cell cultures.

Sample material: Cell suspensions, supernatant from adherent cells, media, sera, detergent-treated, or frozen samples
Sensitivity:M. arginini: 106 - 107 CFU/ml, M. hyorhinis: 106 - 107 CFU/ml, A. laidlawii: 104 - 105 CFU/ml, M. orale: 105 - 106 CFU/ml. The assay detects mycoplasma contamination in cell-culture supernatants both undiluted and diluted 1:10.
Specificity: The antibodies used in the assay are specific for the mycoplasma/acholeplasma species listed above.
