COX-2 Mouse Monoclonal Antibody (clone COX 229), Concentrate
This antibody reacts specifically with COX-2 protein. Cyclooxygenase (COX) is a membrane-bound enzyme, which has a molecular weight of 72 kDa. It is an enzyme that catalyzes the synthesis of cyclic endoperoxides from arachidonic acid to form prostaglandins (lipid-soluble, homone-like regulatory molecules). Two isoforms of COX have been identified and are known as COX-1 and COX-2. COX-2 is dimeric and is the inducible (i.e., sites of inflammation) isoform of cyclooxygenase.Positive tissue: Colon carcinoma.
