Thymidylate Synthase (TS) catalyzes the reductive methylation of dUMP by 5,10-methylene tetrahydrofolate to generate thymidylate and dihydrofolate. TS is a critical target enzyme in cancer chemotherapy. It has been reported that IHC expression of TS could assist in predicting response of colorectal cancer patients to modulated MTX-5-FU therapy.
