描述:
Colcemid™ Solution is a sterile preparation containing 10 µg⁄ml Colcemid™. An effective antimitotic agent in tissue culture arresting the dividing cell at metaphase of mitosis, with activity similar to colchicine.

Prepared in Hanks' Balanced Salt Solution (HBSS), KaryoMAX® Colcemid™ Solution is functionally tested as a blocking agent which arrests cells in metaphase by disrupting the cytoskeleton. Performance tested on cells from whole blood. Every lot comes with a Certificate of Analysis (COA) detailing the mean mitotic index.It is recommended that Colcemid™ be used at a level of 0.6 µg⁄ml culture medium.
Note:
For banding techniques it is recommended that the volume of Colcemid™ Solution added to the culture be reduced to 0.05 ml to yield a final concentration of 0.1 µg⁄ml. Colcemid™ has been isolated from Colchicum autumnale and chemically is N-desacetyl-N-methylocolchicine.
Although closely related to colchicine, animal studies reveal it to be less toxic
