Trade Name:
Upstate (Millipore)
Specificity:
Recognizes a region composed of residues at the C-terminus of human MIP-1 beta/CCL4.
Molecular Weight:
10 kDa
Immunogen:
KLH-conjugated synthetic phosphor-peptide composed of residues at the C-terminus of human MIP-1 beta/CCL4.
Isotype:
IgG
Species Reactivity:
Human
Quality Assurance:
Routinely evaluated by immunoblot.
Presentation:
In 60% storage buffer (50 mM Tris-Glycine (pH 7.4), 0.15 M NaCl, 0.01% sodium azide and 0.05% BSA) and 40% glycerol.
Storage Conditions:
2 year at -20°C from date of shipment. Upon first thaw, and prior to removing the cap, centrifuge the vial and gently mix the solution. Aliquot into microcentrifuge tubes and store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles, which may damage IgG and affect product performance. Note: Variability in freezer temperatures below -20°C may cause glycerol-containing solutions to become frozen during storage.

UniProt Summary:
FUNCTION: SwissProt: P13236 # Monokine with inflammatory and chemokinetic properties. Binds to CCR5. One of the major HIV-suppressive factors produced by CD8+ T-cells. Recombinant MIP-1-beta induces a dose-dependent inhibition of different strains of HIV-1, HIV-2, and simian immunodeficiency virus (SIV). The processed form MIP-1-beta(3-69) retains the abilities to induce down-modulation of surface expression of the chemokine receptor CCR5 and to inhibit the CCR5- mediated entry of HIV-1 in T-cells. MIP-1-beta(3-69) is also a ligand for CCR1 and CCR2 isoform B.
SIZE: 92 amino acids; 10212 Da
SUBUNIT: Homodimer and heterodimer of MIP-1-alpha(4-69) and MIP-1- beta(3-69).
SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Secreted.
PTM: N-terminal processed form MIP-1-beta(3-69) is produced by proteolytic cleavage after secretion from peripheral blood lymphocytes.
SIMILARITY: SwissProt: P13236 ## Belongs to the |
