This sequence, Ac-QKRPSQRSKYL, is from myelin basic protein (4-14) . Specific substrate for a, ß, γ isoforms of PKC (Km=7 µM) and poor substrate for PKA, CaMKII, CKI, CKII, and phosphorylase kinase. This N-acetylated peptide is resistant to phosphatases in brain hippocampal extracts and therefore is a good substrate for use in crude extracts.
