Functional Aspects:Spectrin is a cytoskeletal protein of muscle fibers and labeling of spectrin is used to monitor muscle membrane integrity. This antibody should be used in combination with dystrophin antibodies to ensure the membrane is intact and that the absence of dystrophin staining is real and not due to tissue freezing or handling artifact. It is intended as a positive control for muscle membranes.
