Functional Aspects:Rhabdomyosarcomas are myoblast-derived soft tissue sarcomas that express some muscle-specific genes. MyoD1 is one of several regulatory genes that controls myogenic differentiation. The MyoD1 gene protein is not detected in normal adult tissue but is highly expressed in rhabdoyosarcomas. This antibody will help detect the presence of MyoD1 in uncharacterized tissues.
