Avidin D, Rhodamine (TMRITC) labeled, is made from our ultrapure Avidin D and is optimally labeled using tetramethyl- rhodamine isothiocyanate (TMRITC). Rhodamine Avidin D has an absorption maximum at about 550 nm and a maximum emission at about 575 nm. This label produces a red color and is recommended for routine immunofluorescence applications. Rhodamine provides a second label to fluorescein and is especially useful in avoiding problems associated with endogenous tissue fluorescence. The lower quantum yield of rhodamine compared to fluorescein is compensated for by a reduction in photobleaching rate. |
