Application & Usage: Western blotting (0.5-4 µg/ml). However, the optimal conditions should be determined individually. Recombinant adiponectin (4903-25) can be used as a positive control. The antibody detects the 30 kDa mouse adiponectin, and also cross-react in a lesser extent with human and rat adiponectin.

Background Descriptions: Adipocytes are highly active cells with potent autocrine, paracrine, and endocrine functions. Adiponectin is a serum protein produced and secreted exclusively by adipose tissues. Unlike insulin and leptin, adiponectin levels in plasma remain constant throughout the day and are not acutely affected by food intake.
